This urn was made for a woman who was busy in her life. She had a professional life, a religious life and many groups of friends. She tended to keep each group to itself. This life style led me to create the simple geometric pattern.

For over 30 years I have enjoyed creating bespoke rooms and furniture for my clients. I work in a collaborative manner with my clients to develop the parameters of their project. I then go through drawings or models and finally onto the actual piece. I have worked on Gothic Victorian houses and period rooms, built pulpits, and altars, tables, beds and desks. During the past 10 years I have been focusing more of modern work and I continue to look for more work in the modern style.

For Michael's Lacquer Chess TableThe Westmount Group built a custom Chess Table for me to my specifications. The final product exceeded my expectations and is truly amazing. The process was a very fun collaborative experience and the price very fair.

For English Elm Coffee TableJeffrey blew us away on this project. My wife and I were looking for a coffee table for our living room. We started with a fairly abstract sense of what we wanted (a live edge, wooden table that felt modern/clean). After finding inspiration from one of Jeff's other pieces, we contacted Jeff; he helped us flesh out our idea, sourced an amazing slab, sent us multiple stain/finish samples and educated us along the way. The table arrived last week and we 100% love it. It's unique, visually stunning and made to last. We enthusiastically recommend working with Jeff, and plan to do so ourselves for our next furniture project!

For Custom cutting board and cooktop riserIt has been a great experience working with Jeffrey Carter at the Westmount Group. First of all, it was a total surprise to find a local maker that is a ten minute drive across town, but I was further swayed by Jeffrey's portfolio and my desire to support a local craftsman. My project was a pretty small one, but I felt like I got all the attention given to and craftsmanship that would be put into a project that runs ten or a hundred times the size of mine. I did specify a small challenge to have the two parts of my project be connected yet detachable. To my pleasant surprise, Jeffrey embedded several magnets flush with the surface of the pieces. I love his solution as it is innovative, unobtrusive, and it works wonderfully. Lastly, since he is a local craftsman, I was able to pick up my work from his shop and meet Jeffrey face-to-face. First of all, his shop is a wonderful space; it is kept extremely organized and clean even with the numerous projects and the array of machinery. I was able to get a glimpse of their works-in-progress and recently finished works. If you appreciate great craftsmanship, I highly recommend visiting and picking up your finished project there so you can also check out the shop! Finally, Jeffrey was a pleasure to meet. After he demonstrated the finished project to me and gave me maintenance instructions (and a little bit of free beeswax for polish–thanks!), we talked a little bit before I went on my way. Overall, I could not be any more pleased. I highly recommend Jeffrey for projects small (or big) as a highly skilled craftsman who will deliver you a great project with great service.
