Fused Glass Tabletop Sculpture - Wedding Announcement
This sculpture was a wedding gift and features the wedding announcement of the client's nephew and his bride. It is encased between two pieces of clear glass with a frame of hand raked fused glass. I used the color palette of the desert bouquet to inspire the raked glass. Both the front and back of the announcement are visible as the sculpture can be viewed from both sides. The glass is seated in a black slate base framed in black painted wood.

Our original thought was a 3-D type of metal statue but Michelle came in with a slightly different take and it was well received by our team. She described her design very well and sent hand drawings to further clarify her idea. We went with her ideas and we are very happy with the end piece. Her idea of kiln-carving part of the design was better than she described! When she was finished, she sent the statue and a personal check since she over estimated the shipping! Honestly, I think her price was TOO INEXPENSIVE for what we received. She communicated many times as the project began to develop and even checked up to make sure it was delivered. I don’t know what my next item that would need to be created is, but I would have Michelle look it over first!
