Reclaimed Maple Slab Coffee Table With Black Walnut Butterflys
This coffee table is made from a single salvaged maple slab, with hand-cut black walnut butterfly joints, and a natural edge on both sides. The base is made from 2"x1" rectangular steel, in matte black powdercoat finish, with a slight taper towards to the floor to give it a nice visual lightness. The non-toxic, health-counscious finish is resistant to wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juices, milk and water etc. according to German Industrial DIN 68861 - 1C and complies EURO-NORM EN 71 (suitable for children's toys). This finish makes product care simple and easy. In most cases all that's needed is an occasional wipe-down with a soft cloth dampened with water. A detailed finish description is available on request. This table measures approximately 52"L x 22"W x 18"H, but measurements vary a bit from piece to piece, as each slab is uniquely one of a kind. You have some choices on slab size and butterfly placement, as well as the finish color for the legs, and turnaround time is approximately 3 weeks for delivery.

I specialize in reclaimed materials, healthy and environmentally friendly finishes, and run a full custom furniture shop and retail store in Oregon. I am a strong advocate of recycling in its many forms, and am proud to offer historic lumber products a second life as a work of art or furniture. I am involved with the materials I use from the very beginning, whether it be architectural salvage, or rescuing logs from pulp yards and milling them into raw lumber. From selection and processing to finished product and shipping, I am involved every step of the way. I appreciate both the process and the benefits of using salvaged materials and historical lumber to design and fabricate second-life products, while minimizing or negating resource consumption.
I can work with you from the earliest stages of design, through fabrication and delivery. Due to the age, color, grain, and source of my materials, each piece is unique and one of a kind, and is therefore customizable to the smallest detail.
