Floating Top Industrial Coffee Table In Reclaimed Fir

$500

This small coffee table is made from reclaimed antique fir from the turn of the century, salvaged from a barn in Oregon. The base is 1" square tube steel in matte black finish, and the top "floats" just off the base, giving the table a very interesting visual appeal from both standing and seated positions. The non-toxic, health-counscious finish is resistant to wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juices, milk and water etc. according to German Industrial DIN 68861 - 1C and complies EURO-NORM EN 71 (suitable for children's toys). This finish makes product care simple and easy. In most cases all that's needed is an occasional wipe-down with a soft cloth dampened with water. A detailed finish description is available on request. The table measures approximately 28"L x 18"W x 18"H. Other sizes and configurations of my floating top tables are available on request, in coffee table, console, and dining table sizes.

I specialize in reclaimed materials, healthy and environmentally friendly finishes, and run a full custom furniture shop and retail store in Oregon. I am a strong advocate of recycling in its many forms, and am proud to offer historic lumber products a second life as a work of art or furniture. I am involved with the materials I use from the very beginning, whether it be architectural salvage, or rescuing logs from pulp yards and milling them into raw lumber. From selection and processing to finished product and shipping, I am involved every step of the way. I appreciate both the process and the benefits of using salvaged materials and historical lumber to design and fabricate second-life products, while minimizing or negating resource consumption.

I can work with you from the earliest stages of design, through fabrication and delivery. Due to the age, color, grain, and source of my materials, each piece is unique and one of a kind, and is therefore customizable to the smallest detail. I pride myself in offering sustainable, responsible, and healthful solutions for your design needs.
