The Vale Coffee Table -- Walnut/Glass/Steel
The Vale coffee table is made from natural-edge, extra-thick walnut slabs, inset with a tempered glass top. The minimal legset is made from powdercoated plate steel, pictured here in matte black powdercoat finish, but custom finish colors and metallics are available. The non-toxic, health-counscious finish is resistant to wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juices, milk and water etc. according to German Industrial DIN 68861 - 1C and complies EURO-NORM EN 71 (suitable for children's toys). This finish makes product care simple and easy. In most cases all that's needed is an occasional wipe-down with a soft cloth dampened with water. A detailed finish description is available on request. The table pictured measures 48"L x 36"W x 16"H, but custom sizes are available, as are other wood species. I specialize in reclaimed materials, healthy and environmentally friendly finishes, and run a full custom furniture shop and retail store in Oregon. I am a strong advocate of recycling in its many forms, and am proud to offer historic lumber products a second life as a work of art or furniture. I am involved with the materials I use from the very beginning, whether it be architectural salvage, or rescuing logs from pulp yards and milling them into raw lumber. From selection and processing to finished product and shipping, I am involved every step of the way. For Custom Entry Console Table5.0One caveat: we have not yet picked up our table. However, we have been very happy with how this project has gone. We saw one of Jonathan's floating wood tables with a metal base on the Custom Made website and fell in love with it. After corresponding with Jonathan, we asked him to make the same table but with a different stain and different metal base. He worked closely with us throughout the process. He sent us two samples with the proposed stain and we made our selection from the two. When the project was complete, he sent us two photos with good shots of the top with the beautiful unique grain. We are picking the table up this week and are very excited. It looks exactly as we envisioned. This was a very good experience.
