Bookmatched Coffee Table in Wormy Figured Maple & Satiné – 2012 The final piece in this series, this table is meant for an elegant office or living space. Cantilevered design and impressive quilting in the grain provide a stunning effect. Wood of this kind is not common. (It has been noted that the bookmatch is reminiscent of a crocodile floating just under the water.) Lacquer finish

I am a studio furniture maker, working in modern creative design for discerning consumers. I have had training at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport ME, one of the finest craft schools in the country, and currently have a high end studio in Ithaca, NY where I produce speculative furniture, and commissions. I am skilled in traditional joinery and specialize in Marquetry.
I work in valuable, and hard to find wood from both sawyers and reclaimed dealers and other locations. I seek to drive modern design forward by combining new aesthetic ideas into pieces that are intrinsically functional.
Most of the equipment and hand tools that I produce furniture and woodwork with have been found and restored over the last ten years. I find great pleasure in using machines from the late 1800's and mid 1900's
