Walnut Blanket Chest
This custom blanket chest is made with spectacular figured walnut and tiger maple. It features hand-cut dovetails where the sides meet the rear panel, while the front is mitered into the front-sides so the grain is continuous and wraps around the front. The interior features aromatic cedar floor, a pull-out tray and a carved plaque. Supporting the chest are ogee bracket feet which are hand-shaped. The lid features a maple and walnut scallop shell inlay and the front inlaid escutcheon is made of maple. This chest is a significant piece of furniture, measuring 42" wide x 21" deep and standing 26" tall, but I can make a similar chest to any size requirements. Mar 31, 2019Kerry's work is top notch and he's extremely professional & easy to communicate with. He worked with me to design exactly what we wanted (a wood live-edge bench of specific dimensions-- we're going to use it as a coffee table). He kept us updated along the way, sending photos of the slab he'd chosen based on our requirements (with a bit of it oiled so we'd get a sense of how the final product would look) and sending a drawing of the placement of the flat steel legs, so we were all on the same page when he began the work. He responded quickly to messages, and the time frame was as described. Most important, the final product is GORGEOUS. Very solid and well-made, quite beautiful. BTW, I marked 5 stars for shipping b/c I had to complete that part to submit the review, but actually we decided to go pick it up ourselves since Kerry's shop is fairly close to us (though delivery was included in the price he quoted us).

Jul 5, 2017Kerry was a dream to work with. We had a house fire and lost everything. We had a particular dinning room table that we looked for two months to replace and could not find. Then I found CustomMade and Kerry. Kerry listened to our description and knew exactly what we had. We wanted to tweek the design a little and he was more than up to the task, even offering other suggestions that made our great table even better. Kerry returned every text, email, and call on a timely manner and provided pictures along the way. When he got to the finishing stage, he sent us four small pieces of discarded wood that had variations of the finish we wanted. This one part of the experience makes for a finished product that you cannot be unhappy with.

Jan 26, 2017I love how the cutting board came out! The design was even better than what I thought it would be. This was a gift for my mom who is an interior designer and she loved it as well. It was very easy working with Kerry and he responded promptly to any requests. He did a great job piecing together all of my requests to make a beautiful cutting board! I would recommend him to anyone and look forward to hopefully ordering more products from him.
