Anniversary Chest
This sturdy box comes apart to reveal twenty-four hollow blocks – one for each of the first twenty-four years of marriage. Each year, the happy couple will write a note about the year – favorite memories, special happenings – or choose something small to put in the box. A matchbook from a favorite restaurant, a special photograph, the new baby's tiny sock… they will fill the block with whatever memorializes the year. Then, they can slide the block back onto the dowels, replace the lid, and have a solid and beautiful storage chest. (In fact, the inside of the box can hold larger memorabilia.) On their silver anniversary, they'll be able to look through the evidence of their years together. Made from solid oak. can be made with some reclaimed oak as well.

May 21, 2020I was very impressed with Kinderling Wood. I have an old tubular chime that had a really ugly cover and was in a tight alcove. It looks great, and fits perfectly. There was excellent, professional, back and forth and confirming of dimensions and how it would hang. It fits into the architecture of the room now so well that actually no one has noticed the old ugly one is gone.

I came across Michael's work a few weeks ago, and we corresponded about an unpainted version of his puzzle chair for us. I appreciate the advice he gave about wood choices and finishing, and am so pleased with the final product. A nice bonus was that he got us the chair in time for my son's birthday -- certainly didn't expect that. Thanks for the beautiful work!
