Live Edge Cherry Crotch Cut Coffee Table On Tapered Iron Legs

$2,200

I have 1 remaining and nearly identical slab off of the same flitch available. It is around 16 1/2" w at the bottom, 31 1/2"w at the top and 60" l. Id be happy to build a similar piece for you with the last slab of this beautiful and rare piece of Cherry! This is an industrial, rustic and modern styled coffee table with SIZE! The piece measures 60" L x 18 1/2" (bottom) - a whopping 33 1/8" W at the top and stands 16" H. The slab itself is 1 5/8" thick and packed with character. Can be finished in an oil and wax combo, oil and poly or a zero VOC plant based urethane. I have one slightly smaller matching slab off of this flitch. If interested in a similar build..let me know!

Kentucky LiveEdge is operated by craftsman Drew Gahafer. He creates quality live edge furniture and unique applications for home and office.

Drew Gahafer is a self-taught woodworker, artist and furniture designer that got his start by upcycling furniture that was either thrown away, neglected, or purchased for mere pennies at yard sales or consignment shops. Plastics, glass, metals and wood were all materials that he was intrigued on refurbishing and building with. In 2008 he built his family home, which was a narrow shotgun style house. After weeks of housing the traditional square coffee table, he realized the dimensions took up 1/3 of the rooms space. In an effort to create something customized for his home space, he traveled back to his roots and brought back 2 narrow live edge slabs from a sawmill in Eastern Kentucky. By the time his first two pieces were near completion, his family and friends made offers on both pieces. He obliged and returned to the mountains for 5 live edge slabs of wood. Once those 5 were near completion, same story. To this day, his home lacks a coffee table.
