Geometric Side Table, Cube Table, Log Table, Wooden End Table

$400

Here is a beautiful and original piece! It was created by squaring up a sustainably sourced Eastern Red Cedar log, working the wood and finishing it in a satin poly and placing it on 4 reclaimed cast iron stove legs. The legs have a really cool form and taper to them adding character to the cube! They had a nice patina on them already, so instead of buffing or painting I decided to leave them the color they are. The legs have however been sealed with a clear coat to inhibit rust and keep your carpets/flooring clean. This would be sweet as a side table, end table, plant stand, statuary stand, night stand, etc. This piece may look rough and tough, but it's smooth to the touch! It does have natural drying checks (cracks), but they in no way degrade the strength or beauty of this build. Measures 12" x 12" 28" H.

Kentucky LiveEdge is operated by craftsman Drew Gahafer. He creates quality live edge furniture and unique applications for home and office.

Drew Gahafer is a self-taught woodworker, artist and furniture designer that got his start by upcycling furniture that was either thrown away, neglected, or purchased for mere pennies at yard sales or consignment shops. Plastics, glass, metals and wood were all materials that he was intrigued on refurbishing and building with. In 2008 he built his family home, which was a narrow shotgun style house. After weeks of housing the traditional square coffee table, he realized the dimensions took up 1/3 of the rooms space. In an effort to create something customized for his home space, he traveled back to his roots and brought back 2 narrow live edge slabs from a sawmill in Eastern Kentucky. By the time his first two pieces were near completion, his family and friends made offers on both pieces. He obliged and returned to the mountains for 5 live edge slabs of wood. Once those 5 were near completion, same story. To this day, his home lacks a coffee table.
