New Item! Custom mr² Hardwood Bookcases with Tapered Feet (40" Wide x 30" High x 14" Deep). The bookcase shown is cherry with a satin finish. • Shelves and sides are made with multiple cherry hardwood boards.. • All shelf, riser and partition attachments are secured with power head screws and covered with cherry dowels. • Shelf height is approximately 12 7/8" • All the external surfaces; including top, bottom of shelves and all visible surfaces have multiple coats of satin finish polyurethane. Sanding is completed prior to each coat. • Grain patterns will vary depending upon stock available. • Choice of stain and finish. • Multiple samples of the bookcase stained and covered with satin lacquer finish will be sent to the customer for approval before finishing. Grain and colors will vary depending upon the cherry stock available. • There are two (2) partitions inset to add strength as well as style to the piece. The top partition is centered at 1/3 the length of the shelf and the bottom is centered at 2/3 the length of the shelf • The bookcase has six (6) 1 ½" high tapered legs with pads and is leveled. • Completely assembled piece shipped in multiple layers of bubble wrap and multiple layers of cardboard in a single carton. Shipping costs are estimated for the West Coast (See Shipping & Policies). If total shipping costs are lower, a refund would be applied when shipped. Other woods and sizes are available upon request. Based upon present backlogs, the delivery schedule will be extended on custom made pieces. Items in stock can also have an extended time period for shipment.

Each piece is hand made and individualized to meet each customers’ needs and requirements. I maintain close communications with each customer on the status including pictures as the piece is assembled and finished.
Any changes or improvements to the the piece are reviewed and approved prior to implementing each change.

I had a custom job request and even after approval of his drawing, he re-worked one small item to add stability to the book shelf (of which I never would have noticed nor thought-of, plus I already signed off on it - how often does that happen in life?!). He clearly cares about his work and shows judgment of a true professional. He sent me 4 samples of the stains to ensure I liked the color of the piece; he sent pictures throughout the process, at each step and I know I will love the piece after I open it. I haven't had a chance to open/inspect the final product due to work on my house but I would definitely work with him again (and will update my review after my house isn't torn apart).

For Custom Mr2 Solid Cherry Shadowbox Bookcase4.8My wife and I searched hard for a "Shadowbox Bookcase" for our living room. All we found were particle board monstrosities, or overpriced manufactured hollow versions. We wanted something in solid hardwood, preferably cherry. Rick provided this. His quote was reasonable, his design was exactly what we requested, and his communication was outstanding. He started and completed the project on schedule. Delivery was timely. There was a small glitch in the delivery, and Rick apologized profusely for this, but it was totally out of his control, and I believe him when he says that it had never happened before with this shipper. We managed to take delivery of the item, which was exceedingly well wrapped and protected. We are proud to have a custom piece of Rick Ricks craftsmanship in our living room.
