Reclaimed Wood Bar

This was a design/build bar outfit we made of 250 year old reclaimed oak and chestnut. The bar was made entirely of wood salvaged from a c.1757 homestead that originally stood where the new restaurant was built. We tried to give the bar a refined look which is sometimes a tough task with reclaimed materials. The face frame and post stock was re-sawed and re-planed to give it a clean finished look. The tight wood grains, worm holes, and nail markings really looked spectacular with the clear finish that was applied. Being careful to preserve the original look of the boards, as well as providing a stark contrast to the finished stock, the panels were simply run through a thickness planer with wire brushes. In addition to the primary bar we can provide our clients with any other needed components to complete their remodel such as bar islands and reception areas, back bar cabinetry and shelving, column wraps and box beams, tables and bar stools, bar taps and anything else you may need. We completely understand the time restraints in remodeling bars and restaurants. Muddy River fully assembles the bar in our shop to ensure proper fit and finish. We then dismantle them into a series of components that can be shipped and assembled in the field. This method greatly reduces in field labor and mess while more importantly expediting the building process.
