What sets the price

A listing's price is usually a starting point. Half of the listings here are priced between about $450 and $4,000, with a median near $1,250. Size, wood, the number of drawers and the interior fittings set the price of a commission.

Before you start

• Count what you own: necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets and watches.
• Measure your longest necklace, so hooks or drawers are tall enough for it to hang straight.
• Decide whether the piece stands on the floor or sits on a dresser, and measure that space.
• Choose a wood and finish, or send photos of the furniture it will sit beside.
