Pretty Pink Roaring Twenties Vintage Style Cloche Summer Hat Hat
A very pretty hat in cool pastel shades for summer in this stunning OOAK cloche hat. A classic vintage 1920's style cloche hat in a shabby chic style. The base of the hat is made in a pale taupe. A textured pleated band made from a pale plum dupioni silk woven with contrasting blue threads offers a shimmering effect. This same fabric is made for the hand stitched banding surrounding the brim. The hat is detailed using floral motif appliques in shades of pale gold, rose, pink and plum accented with a sprinkling of sequins. A delightful color combination makes this a great hat for a garden wedding, tea party or afternoon brunch. I made this hat using traditional millinery techniques. Buckram fabric is dampened down and then stretched over a vintage wooden hat block. The brim is hand formed and the details are hand sewn from the highest quality fabrics. I have always been a maker of things. My first memory of making things was when I was a little girl. I would cut up old sheets while sitting on the living room floor and try to figure out how all the pieces could be fit together to make something. My fascination with fabric has never been far from my mind. I have always had needle and fabric in my hands. I started designing my own cloths in Jr high and never stopped, some 40 years ago. I have always had a love for hats. When I discovered the internet I knew I could now make and sell my hats. I am so excited to have found a place to share and grow my love of hats.
I offer custom made and ready to wear hats. Hat designs from the 1900's Victorian era past the Roaring 20's flapper days and beyond the World War II Bombshell hats. A hat shop dedicated to the fashions of the past with a connection to the styles of today.
