Edwardian shabby chic vintage style formal wide brim wedding, bridal in a soft Hyacinth purple lace for summer. An elaborate couture hat detailed in lace which is encrusted with beads spread over a floral motif. The hat brim is a transparent lace for a feminine alluring look. I made this hat studying a millinery text Course book dating back to 1915. The hat is made using traditional millinery techniques in which buckram, stretched over a vintage wooden hat block to form the shape of the crown and is wired for strength and stability. It is then covered in a hand sewn layer of Georgette fabric and Chantilly lace. onto the buckram form. I have handmade all the flowers and carefully sewn them onto the hat. The wide brim is edged and hand sewn in a contrasting taffeta along with the pleated band placed around the crown. This hat is a beautiful accompaniment to a vintage wedding dress or as an accessory for a Victorian or Edwardian affair, special event, garden party, church, tea. Hat brim will be apx. 18.5 across You can contact me for details and photos of how to measure your head. This style hat can be made to match your dress. This hat is ready to ship in a size MEDIUM and will ship the next business day. If you would like to have a customized hat in this style the completion date is one week.
Gail's Custom Hats
I have always been a maker of things. My first memory of making things was when I was a little girl. I would cut up old sheets while sitting on the living room floor and try to figure out how all the pieces could be fit together to make something. My fascination with fabric has never been far from my mind. I have always had needle and fabric in my hands. I started designing my own cloths in Jr high and never stopped, some 40 years ago. I have always had a love for hats. When I discovered the internet I knew I could now make and sell my hats. I am so excited to have found a place to share and grow my love of hats.
I offer custom made and ready to wear hats. Hat designs from the 1900's Victorian era past the Roaring 20's flapper days and beyond the World War II Bombshell hats. A hat shop dedicated to the fashions of the past with a connection to the styles of today.
The hat was beautiful and my girlfriend loved it. It would gain on being packed in a hat box, hence the missing star.
