Palm-Sized Lead Crystal Rhubarb Leaf, Pate de Verre, With Realistic Hand Blown Glass Berries

$400

This glass rhubarb leaf is a limited edition of twenty and is made using the pate-de-verre method. Each leaf is completely detailed in color and texture on both sides and no two in the edition are exactly the same. The leaf measures is about the size of the palm of a small hand - about 3 inches long and 2.5 inches wide. The leaf will come with a clear acrylic cradle that helps it to sit level on your table.

For these pictures I nestled three of my life-sized glass raspberries in different colors, but of course you could choose your own selection of glass berries from all those shown in my portfolio here on Maker Marketplace.

The glass rhubarb leaf itself is priced at $300 and the total price for your display will depend on how many and which kind of berries you select to put inside it. You can fit as many as 5 or 6 berries into the leaf, depending on their various sizes. As shown here with the three raspberries, the price would be $450. I look forward to hearing your ideas!

Almost nothing in nature is completely round, smooth or even, so I avoid making my glass fruit and leaves too perfectly. I put on little splotches and speckles, make them a tidbit lopsided, and add other small imperfections so that each berry or leaf is unique. This makes them look much more lifelike.

These glass fruits are lifelike enough to fool adults at first glance. Never display your glass berries where they could be confused with real fruit. Never put them in your mouth, even for fun, or allow anyone else to do so. Make sure to keep them out of the reach of children of any age.

Your finished leaf and berries will be carefully packaged with biodegradable plant fiber batting inside a 100% recycled paper gift box with a pretty red stretch bow.

About Me:
I have been working with glass for about thirty years in total, and have made my living as a glass sculptor and jewelry designer for the last fifteen years.

About My Work:
My current work focuses on lifelike fruits and berries which I make from glass in the flame of a torch. I sell the glass berries as sculpture as single pieces or in customized groupings, and I also incorporate them into unique jewelry pieces, often custom-designed for individual clients.

The jewelry designs can range from very simple pendants and earrings to complex statement pieces. Take a look at my Custom and Quick Order listings to get some ideas of what can be done. I would love to design a custom piece just for you.

My Business:
My work is also available for purchase around the United States at major glass and art galleries, and my pieces have found homes in private collections all over the world. I also do business under the name GlassBerries.
