Office Desk Or Kitchen Table
This reclaimed Fir table is suitable for so many locations. Reclaimed Office Desk made from Douglas Fir removed from an old industrial warehouse in South East Portland, Oregon. The legs are hardwood dunnage used to ship railroad rails from Asia to Oregon. (I can also make steel legs-drop me a note to discuss design and pricing!) The beams were originally built as a work bench for a metal shop. There are holes and dips and rough cuts. I milled the wood and built the top leaving as much of the original character as possible. 1/4" Steel plates attach the legs to the top. This table sold but I can make more! Just ask me or start your custom order today! This will bring warmth and character to any room. Measurements are: Length 67 1/2" X Width 27" X Height 28 5/8" with floor adjusters. Shipping . . cost depend on your location. The legs are removable and very easy to install.

I have been living in the Pacific Northwest since 1991 and currently work in Portland, Oregon. Portland is a fast growing hub of creative energy and inspired Makers. I am one. For me, it has always been about line, shape, function and lets not forget . . . wood. I am awed by it's unique nature and delighted that I get the opportunity to work with it everyday. Each board and every species has it's own unique characteristics. A wild example is the Huon Pine from Tasmania. It is the oldest living tree on the planet at 10, 500 years. They start to reproduce 600 to 800 years of age. That helps put some perspective in the realm of us and them!
The intention behind my work is to highlight the qualities of each piece of wood I handle, to give it a new life, and to help us appreciate and see it for what it is. I am often given the great pleasure to make gifts for anniversaries, birthdays, holidays and just something sweet. What a special honor it is to be the maker of a gift! I get the sweet view of seeing a person love another. Isn't that what it's all about?
My background in both fine art and the construction industry has given me an unusual approach to woodworking and furniture making. I am an artist who makes usable, beautiful objects with wood that I hope will say something about us.
I have a BFA from Cooper Union in NYC, NY and was a contractor for over 15 years designing and remodeling homes in New York City, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Eugene, Oregon. While studying fine art and learning how to carve wood I also studied woodworking and cabinetry. Later I worked for a couple of architectural woodworking shops in Oregon where I learned in a commercial environment making one off custom work.
I make furniture, woodwork , sculpture, laptop stands, specialty boxes, jewelry and probably something else by the time you read this. I love to design and build my own work as well as contract commissions for clients. My passion lies in discovery and invention and the challenge to make something useful in the most beautiful way possible.

For Jewelry Box4.5Hello: My time of leaving a review is finishing and I would like to tell my experience about the purchase of the jewelry box. After having many problems to understand each other, trying to explain what I wanted and she trying to understand my ideas, finally she was able to describe in the budget just what I wanted. This is the budget, these three points describe how was going to be the box 1) This box will have a hinged lid, will be made entirely of Goncalo Alves and there will be a beautiful carved abstract medallion centered in the top of the lid. 2) The corners of the box will have a rounded radius, 3) The interior will have two identical removable trays with grids measuring 1 5/8" square by 1" high, lined with velvet. Trays will be made from Goncalo Alves with African Blackwood accents. Well, when I received the box I could verify the bottom of the box was made with tongue and groove aromatic cedar wood, according her information, when the second tray is removed, the bottom of the box looks really bad. This bottom should have been made of Gonzalo Alves wood according the budget. Referent to the trays, these were made using cherry wood instead Gonzalo Alves and she didn’t make the African Blackwood accents, for me this fact was very important and she didn’t line the bottom of the trays with velvet. It is not advisable making changes without having the customer’s approval. So, I have a box that I disappointed with it. I have been talking to her and I am waiting a solution. Best regards Antonio

The box fit the deck perfectly, and was gorgeously finished, with perfectly placed logo engraved, tight inlays, and clear craftsmanship. I scoured the internet for a classy well made laptop stand. Most are very modern in design, which was not what I was looking for. Jacquelyn Smith had a design that was perfect. She made the process very easy and was right on the money as far as total price and time of delivery. Most of the gifts for this surgeon were something he could have bought himself.
