Laptop Desk- Writing Desk- Console Table- Writing Desk- Soafe Table- Natural Edges

$950

This would be a terrific console table, sofa table, laptop stand, foyer table or writing desk! It is composed of a live edge slab of curly figured cherry sitting on four 3-bar raw steel hairpin legs. The top is flat, smooth, sealed and magical with all of its natural character. The legs have been clear coated to prevent rust. This finished piece measures 42 1/2" L x 14 1/2" to 18 3/4" D x 30 1/2" H. The slab of curly cherry is 1 1/2" thick.

Kentucky LiveEdge is operated by craftsman Drew Gahafer. He creates quality live edge furniture and unique applications for home and office.

Drew Gahafer is a self-taught woodworker, artist and furniture designer that got his start by upcycling furniture that was either thrown away, neglected, or purchased for mere pennies at yard sales or consignment shops. Plastics, glass, metals and wood were all materials that he was intrigued on refurbishing and building with. In 2008 he built his family home, which was a narrow shotgun style house. After weeks of housing the traditional square coffee table, he realized the dimensions took up 1/3 of the rooms space. In an effort to create something customized for his home space, he traveled back to his roots and brought back 2 narrow live edge slabs from a sawmill in Eastern Kentucky. By the time his first two pieces were near completion, his family and friends made offers on both pieces. He obliged and returned to the mountains for 5 live edge slabs of wood. Once those 5 were near completion, same story. To this day, his home lacks a coffee table.
