This beautiful and artistic live edge coffee table is ready to ship!. It's made from a highly figured maple slab with playful natural edges and a ton of organic curiosities. The two drying checks at one end (cracks) have been filled with an epoxy resin and stabilized with two hand-cut bowtie inlays; one in maple and the other in walnut. The top is fitted to four steel hairpin legs. The legs have been clear coated for protection. The table top has been planed flat, sanded smooth and finished in an oil and poly combo to resist moisture and protect against scratches. This is a naturally flashy piece with a funky mix of mid-century modern, natural solid hardwoods, sustainable lumber and handmade craftsmanship. I loved making this coffee table and I'm sure you'll love using it in your space! Measures 52" L x 14"-16" D x 17 1/4" H. The maple slab is a solid 1 5/16" thick.

Kentucky LiveEdge is operated by craftsman Drew Gahafer. He creates quality live edge furniture and unique applications for home and office.
Drew Gahafer is a self-taught woodworker, artist and furniture designer that got his start by upcycling furniture that was either thrown away, neglected, or purchased for mere pennies at yard sales or consignment shops. Plastics, glass, metals and wood were all materials that he was intrigued on refurbishing and building with. In 2008 he built his family home, which was a narrow shotgun style house. After weeks of housing the traditional square coffee table, he realized the dimensions took up 1/3 of the rooms space. In an effort to create something customized for his home space, he traveled back to his roots and brought back 2 narrow live edge slabs from a sawmill in Eastern Kentucky. By the time his first two pieces were near completion, his family and friends made offers on both pieces. He obliged and returned to the mountains for 5 live edge slabs of wood. Once those 5 were near completion, same story. To this day, his home lacks a coffee table.
