Artist Kathi Dugan began her art career as a Decorative Finish/Mural company, "Wonders On Walls", specializing in customized art and faux finishes on walls, furniture, cabinets and floor cloths. Because "Wonders On Walls" used almost exclusively water based products, it was natural for Kathi to choose acrylic as her medium.
Since that time, Kathi has extended her business to include commissioned portraits and commissioned illustrations. Past portraits have included those of children and adults, set in traditional, realistic or whimsical, fantasy settings. Kathi has also been requested for pet and house portraits, as well as a illustrations of favorite scenic spots and visual concepts. Because Kathi uses photos as her references, physical distance is not a hindrance to job performance. If you have a question about her prices, please do not hesitate to contact her. The price of each piece is as subjective as the piece itself, usually based upon size, detail and difficulty of the request. Although the prices given are realistic ballpark figures, communication is a great way to reach an agreement viable for all parties.

Kathi is the best photo-to-portrait artist in the business! From just two photos she perfectly captured the personality of one of my best friends. She maintained regular, detailed communication throughout the process, and she was able to meet a rather strict deadline. I especially appreciated her expertise through the use of artistic license to create a stunning background for the portrait. The portrait was very carefully packaged and shipped. The commissioned work cost about as much as I figured it would, but I would not describe the price as a great "value" - you get what you pay for. Overall, it is clear that Kathi takes pride in her work and is dedicated to capturing the essence and personality of a person in her work rather than just copying a photo. I will definitely recommend her to others!

Maker Policies
Shipping Policy
Area served: Kathi Dugan's studio is based in the South Shore/ Cape/Greater Boston area. Portraits from photos opens the business for national and international requests. Shipping Methods: Kathi generally uses USPS, FedEx or UPS. If the customer has a preference, please let me know. All shipping and handling fees will be included in customer billing. All pieces will be insured to the full value of the piece, as paid by the customer.
Installation Policy
Wonders On Walls completes each mural or decorative wall finish with a protective coat. It can paint on most surfaces but does not handle installation. For portrait and art prints, customers are responsible for matting and framing.
Maker Policy
Each project includes a non-refundable $150.00 sample fee, within the total coat of the proposed project and payable within the first payment installment. The sample fee is a non-disputable and protective measure, insuring the artist will always be reimbursed for whatever research, work or time she has already spent on the project. If, for any reason, the project is cancelled once the initial deposit is given and before a rough sketch of the painting is approved, all except $150.00 plus any other fees already taken from the deposit, will be returned to the customer. Once the customer approves the rough sketch of the proposed painting, there will be no reimbursement of the initial deposit. At this time only minor tweaks will be allowed to the sketch or possible additional fees may incur, as the sketch will have been drawn up according to the customer's specifications. At this point, Kathi will do her best to insure the final product contains the elements desired by the customer, usually with written notations of said requested changes. Once the painting is finished, the customer will have the opportunity to view the finished work. At this point, only very minor tweaks will be allowed to the painting or possible additional fees may incur, as the painting will have been completed according to the customer's specifications. Payment in full is required, before the painting is shipped out. S&H charges will always include insurance of the work, up to the full value the customer has paid for the piece. Because each project is a one of a kind, very personal and subjective work, there will be no refunds offered on the project, for any reason, once the final painting is complete and paid for.
