About Desks

Listings also show the details that make a desk work: dovetailed drawers on soft-close slides, keyboard pull-outs, cable holes with matching covers, built-in outlets and USB charging, and a remote-controlled monitor lift.
What sets the price
A listing's price is usually a starting point. Half of the listings here are priced between about $1,400 and $6,000, with a median near $3,200, and one in ten is priced above $11,700. Size and shape, the wood or steel, the number of drawers, and built-in power and cable management set the price of a commission.

Describe the desk with the materials, size, budget and date you have in mind, and makers who do this work send proposals. Yes. Listings show cable holes with matching wood covers, built-in outlets and USB charging, a table that doubles as a desk with outlets and lights, and a remote-controlled monitor lift. Tell the maker what you plug in, where the nearest outlets are, and whether cables should drop through the top or run inside the desk.
Measure both walls from the corner, note windows, vents and outlets, and decide which side the return goes on and how deep each surface should be. Say where you sit, and where the monitors and storage go. Large L-shaped and U-shaped tops may be built in sections, so ask how the desk ships and who assembles it.
Each proposal states the maker's timeline before you pay a deposit. On Maker Marketplace, custom furniture and large pieces typically take four to twelve weeks to build, and shipping time comes on top. If you need the desk by a set date, such as an office move, include it in your request so proposals can be planned around it.
