This very unique and rare piece of juniper comes from a bluff of the Big Piney River in the Missouri Ozarks. Junipers growing in such rough environments grow knarly and twisted due to the dry poor soil, rock falls and windy conditions. They also grow very slowly and take hundreds of years to reach this size. Count on the growth rings from a slice taken beneath the lamp base revealed 165 years of growth. Since this represents growth higher up in the tree, it can be estimated to be 300+ year old. This tree was probably already over a hundred years old when Daniel Boone first settled the area. The lamp stands almost 7' tall with the natural rawhide shade. The base is made from Grand Canyon flagstone and the weight makes it an extremely stable base. The lamp also features a glass shelf resting on a branch, which is removable for easy cleaning.

Missouri Nature Art specializes in creating unique furniture and home decor using natural or "live edge" wood and driftwood. We have many items we create on a regular basis, but we really enjoy bringing custom ideas to life!
We love working with beautiful lesser known woods that have a ton of character. All of our wood is either rescued, found, or reclaimed/salvaged from Missouri, although we don't mind branching out into other North American woods for certain projects.
Our hallmarks are great customer service and quality to last a life time. Thanks for browsing our shop!

For Natural Edge Frames Created From Red Cedar DriftwoodExactly what I asked for. Totally custom job -- smaller size and easel back for display on a shelf. Even included plexiglass and extra push points to secure the easel back. Peeled the protective plastic off the plexiglass, trimmed the photo, placed it behind the plexiglass, inserted the easel back, secured with the push points, and sealed the rear edges with framing tape to keep out dust. Perfect frame for a photo of a primitive rock painting.

For Driftwood Cedar Log FrameI have no reasons to give a negative comment! The frame is beautiful. The quality of the wood, the treatment, the sturdiness.. Matt was was very easy to work with and flexible. He worked with me through my questions to come up with the custom frame I was looking for.
Timing was of no issue to me because Matt communicated the project' timeline to me.
Price was that that I trusted Matt for the quote. After receiving the product, I don't feel that any value was lost in the price I paid.
