About Nightstands
Nightstands here include Shaker, Country Hepplewhite and Greene and Greene designs, mid-century modern walnut, waterfall and hand-dovetailed cases, floating nightstands that mount to the wall, reclaimed wood and steel, and knotty pine, zebrawood, bleached oak and Portuguese-style pieces. Many are built in pairs or to match an existing bed or dresser, and listings show dovetailed drawers and openings for charging cables.
What sets the price
A listing's price is usually a starting point. Half of the listings here are priced between about $600 and $2,200, with a median near $1,250, and one in ten is priced above $3,600. Size, wood, drawers and joinery set the price of a commission, and some listings are priced for a pair, so check whether a price covers one nightstand or two.

Describe the nightstand with the materials, size, budget and date you have in mind, and makers who do this work send proposals. You pay a 50% deposit on the one you approve, see the finished nightstand by photos, video call or studio visit, and pay the balance once you approve it; Maker Marketplace holds that payment while it ships.
Frequently asked questions
Measure from the floor to the top of your mattress, and tell the maker. A top close to mattress height keeps a lamp, a phone or a glass of water within easy reach. Measure the space beside the bed too, and the maker can size the top, the drawer and the legs to fit.
Yes. Many listings are pairs, and some were built to match an existing bedroom suite. Send photos of the bed or dresser, the wood and finish, and the hardware, and say whether the pair should be identical or mirror images, for example with doors that open toward the bed.
Yes. Listings show floating nightstands with small openings for cables. Tell the maker what you charge at night and where the outlet is, and ask about a cable opening in the top or back, a drawer with a charging spot, or a shelf for a lamp and its cord.
It can. The federal tip-over standard (16 CFR part 1261) covers free-standing bedroom storage with drawers or doors that is at least 27 inches tall, weighs at least 30 pounds and has at least 3.2 cubic feet of enclosed storage. A tall nightstand can meet all three. Ask the maker whether the standard applies to your design and how the piece meets it.
