About Canes
Canes here include hand-turned canes in exotic woods, from bloodwood, zebrawood and macassar ebony to claro walnut burl derby canes, and heavy-duty canes with T-handles and pistol grips. There are hand-painted and wood-burned canes personalized with names or images, themed and character canes, society canes, and thumb sticks with a forked top. Listings offer a choice of rubber or metal tips.
Fitting a cane
A cane should be fitted to the person who will use it, in both height and grip. If you rely on a cane for support, follow your clinician's advice on its height and type, and give the maker those details.
What sets the price
A listing's price is usually a starting point. Half of the listings here are priced between about $170 and $345, with a median near $225, and one in ten is priced above $460. The wood, the handle, painting or carving, and personalization set the price of a commission.
